I am new to this, and I have quite a few questions, but I will start off with just a couple. First, I have a 3 GHz pentium system with 1 GB RAM and plenty of hard drive space. I have a WinTV-PVR-150 card in the computer that I am currently using with the software that came in the box with the card. I am very satisfied where I am, but there are a few things I would like to be able to do.
First, I would like to be able to use the computer while watching something that I have recorded. It looks like to me that most video cards output whatever is on the computer screen. This would not allow me to watch something while at the same time using the comptuer. Will GB-PVR solve this problem?
Second, I want recording control more like a TIVO. I would like to be able to tell the PVR to find and record all of a certain TV show, or only new versions of a certain show. Is this possible with PVR?
I really want the first thing I mentioned here. I am tired of burning DVDs to watch recorded programs on the television. I am also considering using one of the drive enclosures that plays back MPEG files to the television. Not the optimal solution, but I think it would work.
Thanks for the answers,
Rob Hix
