Hello,

I've developed a problem whereby some scheduled recordings are failing, but though the logs suggest the recording has been cancelled, the recording service icon remains green and the CPU usage gets stuck on 100%. Though the computer is then very slow to respond, I can still restart the recording service, at which point the recording will start as it should; but my worry is that, having a fanless (Tranquil) case, I'm not too happy about going out and leaving a recording scheduled if the CPU might have been fully loaded for hours when I get back.

My tuner is a recently installed Hauppauge HVR-1300, though in the configuration I have it set as a Nova-t (90002) as this is what GBPVR seems to recognize it as. Anyway, I never have any trouble with Live TV, and most recordings work as scheduled, so I don't know if the problem would be a tuning issue or not. Does anything in the logs suggest this, or give a clue as to why it should lock up and not close the recording service properly on failure? (the failed recording is the last one in the recording service log, scheduled for 20.00).

Thanks for any help,

Frazer

What is the output of MuxChecker on your machine? Some versions of the Cyberlink mux have caused this in the past.

Don't think I've got the Muxchecker installed at the moment (I'm not on my HTPC right now), but I'll do it later and report back. I do know that the Cyberlink mux came from Autodvrconvert version 1.3 though, if that helps.

Thanks for the reply,

Muxchecker comes with GB-PVR.

Actually, it was the cyberlink mux that comes with Autodvrconvert that I was thinking of. It has been known to cause this behaviour. Try tracking down v5.0.0.1037. I seem to remember there was another thread that mentioned where to get it a few weeks ago, so try a forum search.

yes I noticed when I got back on the HTPC that the mux is automatically installed now- and the version I have is 5.0.0813. I'll try with the different mux for a while and see if I get any more failures/ lock ups.

thank you very much for the speedy assistance,

Frazer
