How to use the Hauppauge USB2 built-in IR receiver?

I've had a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 for several weeks now and have settled on the GBPVR software. It is wonderfully configurable and customizable! And this support forum is the best!
On to my problem and question...

I have the MCE version of the USB2 so I configured GBPVR to use the MCE Remote. The supplied IR blaster works fine, but my STB uses an RF remote, so I don't need the blaster for that purpose. When I remove the IR blaster completely and try to use the USB2 built-in IR receiver, the remote commands aren't received. What do I need to do to enable/configure the built-in IR receiver?

Its been a very long time since I used my PVR USB2, but I cant remember having to do anything special. Usually you just need to install the Hauppauge software, including the IR Software.

Where does one get with IR software, it's not on the WEbsite or with the installation cd?

From memory, it was on the installation CD. I could be wrong though - I only did it once a very long time ago.

I had to download some stuff from microsoft to get it to install the ehome IR box.

Now do any one have a working HIP configeration for the Haugepauge MCE remote to use with gbpvr, as the default controls are limited, as well as a current hip send configeration for gbpvr to control a Echostar Expressvu 3100:10(Dish Network 301:10) receiver?

FYI, I contacted Hauppauge about my original problem. They said that the built-in IR receiver only works with the Hauppauge remote (my remote is MCE).
I haven't ordered a new remote yet to test it out.
