i just upgraded to the latest version of gbpvr. my old version was a year old. now transcoding an avi to mvp is tiled and stops a few minutes into movie. everything worked fine on old version, same avi file, same mvp. installed zprocess and viewing movie looks and acts the same.

Its probably something in the current version of ffmpeg that doesnt like the way your video is encoded. I dont really have any suggestions other than trying different versions of ffmpeg.

I agree. With ZProcess you can also use MEncoder and VLC to transcode. How does it look when you test it in ZProcess? When you try to view with MVP?

(You have to download and install MEncoder and VLC)

There's a typo in \Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml

Look for these lines:

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLinePAL>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400 -ac 2 -ab 128 -r 25 -s 352x288 -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLinePAL>

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400 -ac 2 -ab 128 -r 29.97 -s 352x240 -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC>

and change the "-b 2400" to "-b 2400k"

Welcome jclark... Post one, and it's about this... shows you've been lurking for a bit - good on ya...

Hmm maybe. But if he was using ZProcess, then the bitrate would be moot. (ZProcess ignores the settings in favour of it's own saved settings which do take into account the bitrate glitch found in the new ffmpeg)

Also the work 'tiling' suggests to me that the picture is being duplicated and wrapped around the picture area. I've seen that a couple of times when testing odd aspect ratios in ZProcess...

tried jclark's suggestion, no joy.
performed a transcode in Zprocess while viewing in VLC, looked perfect. system is a celeron 2.8 with 1.25gig of ram. cpu was at 100% during transcode and viewing VLC????
avi still tiled on MVP, when i view an avi, i do not see zprocess fire on the server, how can i confirm i am using zprocess to transcode and not ffmpg?

p.s. love the new features in the current version, it just keeps getting better.
