Hi,

I have just completed a new build with v 99.12 and am having problems getting NetRadio to play over my MVP, it all works fine on the Server. It worked fine with my MVP with v 98.13. Occasionally a station I select from the Web options manages to play but my Favourites won't at all. Sometimes it looks as if they are loading (I see the http under the station display) but then everything just stops. I have tried playing with the buffer size from 96 kbs upto 1000 this has no effect. I'm sure I'm missing something very simple! Can anyone advise?

Cheers

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub,

thanks for a great proggie and excellent support!

I have just reproduced the problem. Currently the buffer is at 1000. I managed to connect to one Web Optioned Station, both my favourites refused to play.

Are they specific types of radio station? I know some talk back stations wont play because the MVP doesnt like the low bitrate MP3 streams they produce. Higher bitrate music stations should be fine.

What are the station URL's? I try them in mvpmc to see if it is an mvp issue or not.

Are these shoutcast streams? These are the only streams supported for playback via the MVP net radio support in GB-PVR.

The first one plays using mvpmc's vlc interface so if there is a plug for mms streams you should be ok.

Connecting to http://87.117.208.113/PirateFM/stream
Content-Type: video/x-ms-asf
...
mms://87.117.208.113/PirateFM/stream?MSWMExt=.asf

For number two that probably isn't the correct url but it looks like it might be virgin radio and I listen to virgin radio extreme all the time

Thanks for info Martin.

I am guessing mms isn't supported after Sub's comment?

But the other one is a shoutcast and it is Virgin Radio the weird thing is this URL works fine on the Server??!!

STEEB

It could be a shoutcast relay, you might try and find an mp3 stream via

http://network.virginradio.co.uk/
