Hi, I noticed that this Tuner card Receives digital TV(ATSC), digital cable TV(clear QAM), analog TV(NTSC) and analog cable TV.

What is the possibility that this card would work with GBPVR?. I would like to find
a card that would do both as in {Analog and QAM}at the same time.

Thanks for a Great Program.

I dont really know much about the device, but I dont think its going to do what you're want.

If its got BDA drivers, then I expect it'd do 'over the air' ATSC with GB-PVR.

Unfortunately the analog side of this device lacks the required MPEG2 encoder hardware, and the QAM side of things is not covered by the BDA spec. QAM support is only available on select devices like the HDHomeRun and OnAir GT, but unfortunately neither of these have analog.

Unfortunately you'd need two devices to do this today.

Zero.
I have one and have followed it's progression for a while. It is a rock solid ATSC tuner but does not and never will have BDA drivers. The JANUS chipset is way out of development but nothing has been released to the public because they used the technology in set-top-boxes so the licensing rights are locked up, as I understand it.

While the card has an mpeg decoder, it does not have a mpeg encoder so recording analog is an exercise in frustration: viewing analog is OK but don't even try to record it. It has a single tuner with two antenna connections and a built-in A-B switch, not two tuners. It has true HD output capability (independent of the video card) making it an excellent method of driving an HDTV with quality matching any stand-alone HD tuner, as well as several RGB (VGA) output resolutions. You can record a single subchannel or the entire stream, which can be two HD and one, two or three SD stations simultaneously on a QAM256 channel. (depending on the bitrates)

The ability to record a stream while playing a different stream has remained elusive and the developers have given up. They have acheived time-shifting and pause of live TV and extended the tuner to channel 135 for QAM (with the latest drivers) but that's the end. It can work with dual-core and multi-processor systems but it has some limitations in doing so. It has a lot of problems with PCI-e motherboards due to BIOS problems in allocating upper memory blocks.

Thanks for the Replies, I guess Like Sub said you will have to use two tuners
for Qam and Analog. I guess i was just Hoping that their was something
out their to do Both. I guess i will just to wait or get another Tuner for QAM.

The HDHomeRun will do both ATSC and QAM at the same time. It's a dual-tuner device, and one can be setup for QAM and one for ATSC, and with their new BDA drivers, it works well in gbpvr.

You can find more info at silicondust.com, and there's quite a bit of recent info about it here in these forums as well.

I'm sorry... I misunderstood. The HDHomeRun does NOT do both analog and qam, but ATSC and QAM. Big difference.
