Hi all
I have a Hauppauge PVR 350 in a P3 800 with 512Mb RAM, which seems to be sufficient hardware from all I have read. Hauppage installed fine, drivers work, nothing out of the ordinary with this.

I am stuck trying to watch Live TV through the PVR's TV out port. In the configurator, for playback if I choose the PVR 350, then I when I run GB PVR, I get the GB menu on the TV, but if I try to watch Live TV, then I get the message, "No tuners are available..." and then no other option but "Don't watch TV"

In the configurator, if I choose for playback, "None, use software decoder", then suddenly I get TV on my computer monitor, but nothing on the TV.

Having got this far, just for fun I tried to record a show. It says it's recording, which is great, but now I want to cancel and just play with Live TV again, but I am stuck recording Desperate Housewives for all eternity - I can't seem to cancel the recording! Even rebooting the computer doesn't cancel, it seems once I record, I am stuck with it until the show ends - not that I know for sure, because Desperate housewives continues for the next 45 minutes... Frustrating!

My capture source is a Motorola Cable converter, and I am somewhat confused by this too. I can still switch channels (viewing only on my PC Monitor) using the original remote, but if I use the Hauppage remote, I can look at the listing as supplied by Zapit, they show up just fine, but I can't actually select any of the channels.

Is it possible to watch a program and record another simultaneously, with the PVR350, assuming I get the answers to the above questions sorted out?

Thanks,

Frustrated in Whistler BC.

The video rendering with the playback settings at "None, use software decoding" is very jittery. I am using VMR7. Sure wish I could use the PVR350 for decoding...

The tv out on the PVR350 hasnt been support for a couple of years now, but if you reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs, I'll see if I can see an obvious cause for this. Where you recording at the same time? If so, that'd explain it.

Assuming the one you want to watch was recorded earlier, then yes, you'll be able to watch that show and record at the same time.

You may find with that CPU that you need to use Overlay to get a half decent result.

Did you reproduce the "No tuners are available..." problem immediately prior to zipping and attaching the logs?

and you werent recording at the time right?

Recording has been successfully cancelled, and yes, I reproduced the problem just a minute or two ago. See attached.

Can you tell me exactly what time you reproduced it? Do it again if you have to. I have find out where exactly to look in the logs.

Um, I reproduced the problem, then immediately sent you the log file which is time-stamped. I am not sure I can get any more precise than that. I looked at the log file myself, and the whole experiment, from launch until shutdown, occured between 22:09:48 and 22:10:02 - that's only 14 seconds.

Please clarify.

Thanks.

Thats only in the gbpvr.exe-native.log you posted separately though, which is not the log that would show this error.

The log I was interested in was gbpvr.exe.log, but the one you attached above does not have the PVR350 decoder enabled, so I'm assuming its one of your earlier logs where you reproduce this, but there are several of them so I'd need the time to narrow it down to a specific log.

You described the problem as the following, so this is what I was looking for. The most recent gbpvr.exe.log in your logs definitely did not show that since the hardware decoder was disabled.
