Hi, finally my satellite TV is coming in gbpvr...but check out the attached screenshot...the display is all garbled up, though the sound is coming just fine. I tried switching to overlay manager, but it didnt help. Any ideas anybody?

This is usb2 pvr, on my Vista 32 bit.

Does the tuning assistant show you the channel?

I am using satellite TV(TataSky, which is a partnership with Sky+ in India), so the input is via the coaxial cables. I guess, i would not be using the tuning assistant here. As i understood it, gbpvr should be able to directly show the input on my tuner. I have selected "Composite, External Tuner" in the configuration.

Since you said you're using the coaxial cable, you would use the 'composite' option. You'd need to use the 'Fixed channel, external tuner' option, but I dont know what the constant channel number your set top box would by outputting the video on. The tuning assistant should be able to find that one channel.

Umm well, how it works here is that the satellite TV box, outputs the TV on coaxial video/audio cables, which I connect to my TV's Aux input. So to watch TV, i need to switch to Aux Input mode of TV... so its actually not outputting to a specific channel.

Also, before i reinstalling Vista, i was getting crystal clear TV on gbpvr with the same hookup Sad

Your question is very confusing, and not clear how you're trying to use your capture device.

Usually the term "coax" would relate to the one big thick cable coming from you set top box, carrying a single RF modulated channel. This would be connected to the tuner of your capture device (via antenna/cable connector).

An alternative to coax would be "composite" cables are usually three cables joined together, one for video, two for left/right audio.
