Hi,

I use GBPVR on Windows XP. I have multiple users wanting to use GBPVR. But it seems to work only when the user who installed it is logged on (to XP). For other users, whenever they log on and start GBPVR, they get "no available pvr350 detected in the system" message and GBPVR quits.

I use PVR-350 tuner.

Anyone has any thoughts?

Thanks.

Its been a very long time since I used a PVR350, but I seem to remember there was some limitation where the decoder device would function for the interactively logged in user (but could be minimized).

Ok... but the funny thing is that even when only 1 user is interactively logged in, if that user is not the one who installed GBPVR, I get that error message. So essentially, it works great for one user (who installed GBPVR), but if that user logs out and someone else logs in (even if administrator) and clicks on GBPVR.EXE, it seems to throw that error right after it displays "Initializing PVR350..."

So I wonder if there's anything I could do to make GBPVR or PVR350 multi-user... At this point, I don't even know if it's GBPVR issue or something to do with PVR350.

Any help/pointers would be appreciated!

Do the users in question have admin rights??? Some drivers/software requires admin rights to function - Just a though - I don't have a 350 but I thought I'd throw it in there.

I'm pretty sure its PVR350 related, but sorry - I stopped supporting the PVR350 tv out, or developing new features for it, nearly two years ago. This device is more trouble than its worth - driver bugs cause BSOD errors or PC lockups for about 50% of users that try it.

Yes, both accounts that are trying to use GBPVR are administrators. It works with only one (the one that performed the initial installation) and not the other. It won't work with that account even if I reboot the machine!!!

350 has been working like a champ here for me, I bought it a bit over a year ago.

I can test it with multiple users; so, just create another, give it admin rights, and that user should have problems, then, in your setup?

Chicago07,

Did you find a solution for this?
It must have something to do with the user profile you have installed the PVR350 or GBPVR in.
I think it's the first, since I did not find any user related issue's on the forums.

Regards,

David

No, the problem still exists. Don't know what may be causing this... Both users are administrators on the system and it works for one just fine but not for the other. See the screenshot of the error attached if it helps...

Since it's coming from gbpvr, I am wondering if the gbpvr developers could tell me what causes this error to be displayed...

Sorry, I hate to be blunt about this, but I no longer support the PVR350 tv out in GB-PVR. I dropped support for it nearly two years ago. If it only works for one user, than you'll have to make sure you use it that way.
