I've got a Hauppuage 350
installed gbpvr acording to the wiki..
checked setup acording to the wiki

i can playback yuotube

but thats about it...

when i try to run manual recordings i creates a file but the file stays at 0 bytes.
When i got the status window open i can see the def i've set up and it says recording, but the last section says "sleeping"

so i guess gbpvr is having problems using the capture/tv card..

Any ideas ?

when i click "Live TV" while nothing is being recorded it says
"Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

when a recording is running (that produces a 0 byte file) it says
"No tuners are available to watch the requested channel. You can choose to watch one of the currently recording programmes."

*on a side note - i've got VLC set up to use the 350 card just fine and also the prepackaged winTV2000 program works fine.
however, they do ofcourse conflict when run at the same time as they should.
But - when i kick off VLC while the gbpvr window says Recording - nothing conflicts and the VLC works as intended.
It shouldnt - gbpvr should have been locking it out or atleast something should have crashed...

Do you have any DVD playback software installed ?
Its a long time since I set my system up but I think I recall having to have PowerDVD or WinDVD ( or similar) installed for the mpeg video decoder.

you dont need an encoding codec, because the card has a built in encoder, all GB-PVR does is point the output of the hardware encoder to a file (super simplified explanation).
I am not sure about the 350, since it has the hardware decoder built in, but I know for most everything else you need to have a MPEG2 decoder installed, since thats what the files are recorded as.

does recording/live TV work with winTV?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Are you sure you've selected the correct card type in your capture source?

Quote:2007-04-06 14:00:59.234 VERBOSE Dest pin for connect not found
2007-04-06 14:00:59.234 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80004005
2007-04-06 14:00:59.234 ERROR Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudioDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn
2007-04-06 14:00:59.234 ERROR Failed to get capture filter output pin. This will cause encoder auto-detection to fail
You'd usually get this error when either the device type is wrong (for example, configured PVR250 as PVR150), or when you're trying to use a device that is in use elsewhere in the system (running on MCE or some other capture software).
