Hi,

Since I upgraded to v0.99.12 automatic hibernation doesn't work anymore. Manual hibernation does work, but I'd like it to work after eg. 30 min. idle time.
I am using Windows XP, with nothing much installed except GBPVR and VNC.
Are there more people experiencing this problem or know a solution?

Cheers,
Wessel

Auto hibernate for me is totally bizarre. I have it set to hibernate after 1 hr of idle time. Usually this works. Sometimes it takes much longer than 1 hour for it to go hibernate. Sometimes, I'll finish watching a show in GBPVR, and about one minute later, the PC will go into hibernate mode. This is very strange, given that during the show I've been using my Firefly remote to change volume, etc. I would think that would qualify as keypresses, which would reset the idle timer.

I guess my advice is to be patient: could be a background task that's keeping it awake. Have you left it for a long time to see if it eventually goes to hibernate?

Well that was the problem, the computer would stay on for days, instead of hibernating. With patch #3 from gEd reply it seems to work. (Thanks for that!) I simply updated the GBPVRRecordingService binary in the gbpvr dir.

I also found out the XP username must have a password. As my multimedia computer isn't connected to the internet I left the password blank. Somehow in the windows scheduler this results in problems.

If you don't have tweakui:

Same thing will happen for me. When my PC wakes for EPG update, it will stay on for 20 min (which is what I configured in the XP Control Panel) or 40, or 60 minutes. Or sometimes I will be watching a show, and as soon as I stop the PC will hibernate. It seems like remote presses are not registered as "keep-alive" events like real keyboard keystrokes.

I'm considering trying this: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/communit...chine.html

Anyone have any experience with the Hibernator?

I was using TweakUI already, so the logon causes no problem.

It seems to work fine now, haven't used Hibernator. Does this application work in XP as well or only MCE?

Well hibernation works fine, but with the new GBPVRRecordingService binary the computer doesn't wake anymore to record shows. I get a failed recording everytime. The RecordingService log doesn't tell much: The Sport program is pending, however the machine doesn't wake until the next day for EPG update.

2007-04-08 10:42:41.093 VERBOSE [5] pending: NOS-Studio Sport 8-4-2007 13:05
2007-04-08 11:09:31.921 VERBOSE [11] Hour is currently 11. Conversions will happen between 1:00 and 6:00
2007-04-09 05:55:17.500 VERBOSE [5] RecordingFactory.save()
2007-04-09 05:55:17.906 VERBOSE [11] Hour is currently 5. Conversions will happen between 1:00 and 6:00

Anybody have the same problem?
