Weird channel number issue

When I change channels, the channel number does not appear in the upper left corner of the screen. Last time I set this up (same box, same configuration) it worked perfectly. I decided to try mythtv and when I came back to GBPVR I had no channel numbers. I'm stumped so I'm chalking it up to bad GBPVR karma but maybe one of you guys will have the more technical explanation & solution?

It doesnt always show anything in the upper left. Its usually a timing thing (OSD updates once a second, channel change may occur before that, clearing OSD channel number before it ever shows).
