I am having a problem playing recordings on my client pc. After selecting play, it waits a few seconds then goes back to the recordings screen. I took a look in the logs and from I can tell it looks like the playback ended but nothing ever started. All of the files I tried on the client work fine on the server. Anyone have any ideas? Logs are attached.

Thanks,
Taz

Was the path correct? ie, if click Start -> Run, then past in "\\pvr\MyVideos\Planet Earth\Planet Earth_20070325_21002200.mpg" and hit enter, does it play?

Does it work for you if you switch to streaming mode instead of file sharing mode?

Thank you for the quick response. I am always amazed that you are more responsive than any company I have every dealt with and you are just one person.

I will double check tonight when I get home. It worked before and don't recall chaning anything in the config but will double check.

mine does exactly that if the recording is bad.

I went a few days where I only got 0k recordings.
I didnt realize it until I was trying to figure out why I couldnt get it to play.
I fixed the 0k problem and all was good again.

Definitely not a 0kB problem. I pasted the link and windows media player opened and gave me a C00D11B1 error. I get the same error when I find the file in windows explorer and try to play it. The file works fine on the local pc so I am assuming it is not a GBPVR issue.

I also noticed that GBPVR shows the Current Frame, Current Version, Input Size, and Output Size in the upper left corner. How can I turn this off (how did I turn it ON, I haven't changed anything in a long time)?

Yeah, if WMP cant play it, GB-PVR wont be able to either.

GB-PVR isnt displaying this. You must have something like ffdshow installed that is doing this.

Thanks again Sub. I forgot to check streaming instead of file sharing before I posted last night. Streaming did work, sort of. I get sound but now video. But I never could get streaming to work well that is why I switched to file sharing.

I will look into fdshow. I did install windows media encoder a while ago. Does anyone know if windows media encoder uses fdshow or how to get the current frames, cpu load, input size, and output size to stop displaying?

Thanks again,
Taz

No, Windows Media Encoder would not have installed ffdshow. It'd be something else you install.

If you uninstall ffdshow or its filter, the problem will go away.
