Multiple Tuner cards but only one is usable

Hey sub,

I recently took apart my computer to get my dvd drive replaced (hardware fault) and after installing the replacement GBPVR no longer uses both my tuners. Both can get antenna signals (I removed and replaced them in the config), however trying to record two things at once results in a conflict.

Also! Recordings don't seem to work. It will say that it has begun recording, but then trying to watch them during the recording results in nothing (as in find it Pending, select and watch, nothing happens).

I'm guessing you dont have the device numbers set correctly. If you're sure you do, then generate one of these conflicts, then zip and attach the logs and I"ll take a look.

look in config under capture source. Edit your source and look at the settings for the recording source. Make sure the capture device is different for each source.

That shouldn't make any difference, as I removed both tuners and added them again. I'll have a look though.

EDIT: Got it, thanks. Both tuners work now. I'm running a test now to see if recordings work. (That was strange, I don't think I ever had to change that device number thing)

If you use multiple devices with the same driver names, then you need to increase the device number - otherwise it'll try to just access the first one.

Interesting. Anyway, I tried recording and it seemed to work, however automatic recordings (reoccuring etc) don't seem to - they still "record" but then don't respond to trying to play it while recording or after recording. I'll do another test tonight and see what happens.

Update: Test was good. Recording NCIS worked (is working, heh). If a problem comes up again I'll reply to this topic.
