Hello

I'm new to GBPVR, and not sure if this is the right forum for this post (or should it be in "Hardware"?). Anyway, here goes...

I'd built up considerable expectations of GBPVR based on the good things I've read about it and have been looking forward to giving it a workout. I've installed TechnoTrend's BDA driver for my TechnoTrend tuner card. This card isn't included in the list of DVB-T and DVB-S devices with BDA drivers which GBPVR recognises so, next, I followed (faithfully!) the instructions in the Wiki for adding a capture card.

Although I've been able to add my device to the 'Capture Sources' tab of GBPVR Config, if I go into the 'BDA Device Config' dialogue-box and tick "Only show devices detected in this machine" I get this message:- "No known cards detected in this machine". It will be very disappointing now if it turns out that GBPVR isn't accessible to me without buying another card, which I've no plans to do for the present.

Can you please advise me:- is what I'm trying to do not do-able for some reason (eg, is there a fundamantal incompatibility between this card and GBPVR)? Or is there something else I need to do that I haven't yet done? Or is some tweak needed, maybe having to do with the fact that this is a USB device...?

What happens if you don't check the "Only show devices detected in this machine" and just select your device?

Hi Elite
This never occurred to me! I just tried clicking on "Live TV" on the main menu. It said no channels had been set up and that I should click the 'Update EPG' button. I did this and was told the sytem was saving the listings. However, upon clicking on "Live TV" again, I still get the same message as I did the first time (ie that no channels have been set up...).

You will need to add the card to the bda.ini file. Goto the gbpvr wiki page, it explains what you need to do. Or just do a search here on what you need.
PVR1: GBPVR 1.3.11|Pentium E5200|2GB|Hauppauge nova-t stick|nova-t usb2| tevion dvb-t100|250GB OS + 250GB HDD
PVR2: GBPVR 1.3.11|Sempron 2800+|768Mb|Geforce 5700le|Nebula pci|nova-t 909|nova-t 90002|nova-t stick| 300GB + 80 OS HDD

And if I click on 'Map digital channels to EPG channels', I get this error message:- "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device)".

I seem to be going round in a circle.

Hmm - a bit out of my depth as I'm using a pvr 350...

Have you selected your EPG source in config after the recording source? I'm guessing you want "DVB EPG Broadcast"

Then hit update EPG (I assume you don't need to map the EPG to channels...)

As I say I don't have a dvb board, so could be off the mark here...

Edit: Sorry seems we all posted at the same time Smile - Might be worth double checking your bda.ini and posting it if you can't see anything wrong...

Correct

Here's the addition I made to the bda.ini file in GBPVR directory.

I can't seem to find a way to convert a screen-dump of the Graphedit output into an attachment in any of the formats which this forum permits:confused: (I'm not too clever at this sort of thing). But anyway I'm confident that I've followed the Wiki to the letter.
