So some of my recent recordings have been rather wavy... Every once in awhile they're fine, but generally not.

This started when I added another card, and therefor split my cable 3 ways (instead of 2)... So i'm thinking it's possible it's coming from signal strength? Any suggestions on how to fix that? some kind of something I can buy?

Thanks!!!
-Connor

You'll probably need to add an amplified splitter.

That's what I figured... I guess that's a relatively easy fix... Approximately $50 right?

It should be something like that.

An easy test to perform before you go out and drop $$$ on an amplified splitter is just to run cable directly to the primary recording card. Do you have the same problem? If it goes away then it's clearly in the splitter/new cable run. If it's still there then you have other problems. I noticed with my 2 card setup that the placement of my cards in the PCI slots made a difference on interference in the video signal. I found that keeping my two cards as far away from each other was the optimal setup.

I was running it with only one card for 9 months or so... The one card is now the primary card, and the cable was only being split to two destinations (tv and computer)... Now it's split to three destination (2 cards, and tv).... I may just stop running one to my TV, since I have 3 tuners now (the reason I ran to my tv was so I could watch still while something was recording, but now I got that taken care of...)

Thanks!

It's appearing that it was actually caused by having the cards next to each other in my box... I saw somebody else mention that on one of these threads, and it appears to have fixed the problem (getting rid of the splitter did NOT fix it...)

Thanks Guys!
