I have GBPVR setup on an LCD TV. What I would like to do is also allow easy internet access on the same LCD TV. What do other users typically do? I am thinking of buying a wireless keyboard/trackball combo. But how do you switch easily from GBPVR to say Internet Explorer?

ALT-TAB

or if you buy one of those fancy keyboards with lots of activity buttons, you can program them to start up the application of your choice.

I use a wireless keyboard/mouse with an LCD screen. Works great. You just want to make sure that whatever you get will have the enough range to work on the couch/chair/floor where you will be using it.

I haven't tried this, but could you launch it as a custom task? Would look nice as a menu item.
EDIT: Just tried it, works fine. When I close IE, it goes back to GBPVR automatically.

The trouble to me is that I have my resolution set at 720x480 and that doesn't work very well for surfing.

I use a gyration mouse and keyboard. Both work well but the mouse does take a little getting used to.

how about this: download reschange, a free util that enables u to change screen resolutions on the fly via the command line.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-E...ange.shtml

example
C:\WINDOWS\system32\reschange.exe -width=1200 -height=900 -quiet

you might have to hack around a bit to get it back to 720x480 that you need to gbpvr but it might work.

With my SD display it doesn't look very good at higher resolution, so surfing won't work very well until I get a better display.

ALT-TAB, or some keyboard shortcut to launch the Browser.
Then, sometimes I would put GB-PVR in a windowed mode, "always on top", in the corner, a-la PIP, and can surf while something is playing (like TV or something). Of course, depending u have enough "real estate" to make it worth while.

Wireless Microsoft Keyboard (which works thru the IR receiver of the MS remote).

* Hauppauge WintTV PVR USB2
* IBM Thinkpad T42 / 1GB Mem / Centrino 1.6Ghz / 60GB HD / ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 + VGA/DVI out
* MCE Remote + Keyboard
* Win XP SP2 / GBPVR [Latest version. always]
* Pioneer HDTV via VGA (1360x768)
* MS Remote Keyboard
* Logitech Harmony 880 [via MS Remote Control Reciever]

Gotta say - I have this keyboard

http://www.btc.com.tw/english/2-7-21keyb...tm#9019urf

And I'm stoked with it - It was only about $25NZD (around $18USD) and its amazing - Batteries last for months and its range is exceptional. It's little joystick for a mouse is easy enough to use and can be switched to become a USB Gaming device so you can use it to play MAME Arcade games or similar and its fast and responsive. I got it as it was cheap as a stop gap till I decided what I wanted but I'm absolutely wrapped with it - My lounge is long and thin and it works from the arm chair at the opposite corner from the TV about 5m away with no problems at all. If you can track one down its great.
