Thought I'd put up a post about a recent frustrating problem I had with missing recordings and what I did to get it working again.

My GB-PVR PC had been working perfectly for about a month after I built it, but then a couple of scheduled recordings failed. I then realised that some channels recorded as expected, but others did not record at all. For example (UK) channel five always recorded, but BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Ch 4 never did - they used to!

I’m running version 0.99.12 on XP SP2 with a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 dual tuner.

The symptoms were (with AutoRemoveMissingRecordings set to false): I set a programme to record via the EPG - the show in the EPG then appears in red. It also appears in the Pending Recordings panel, but when the recording starts it disappears from the Pending panel. It is then available in the Ready panel, but the only options are ‘Close’ and ‘Delete’. A directory is created to store the recording in the ‘recordings’ directory, but no files are created. Also, after setting it to record in the EPG (making it red), if I exit to the main menu and then go back to the guide, the programme is no longer highlighted in red. I can watch these channels via ‘Live TV’ and I can pause/rewind etc in timeshift mode, so there appearred to be no problems with the tuners. I had previously made recordings on these channels and they have worked perfectly. I’ve not changed any config or GB-PVR files.

It turned out it was to do with the tuners! I removed both tuners from the Capture Source tab in the config application. I then removed all references to my tuners in the BDA.ini file and added the lines that sub suggested in this post: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=8. I then added my tuners again, re-mapped the channels and much to my relief/suprise, it all worked!! I even have a few more channels now - maybe there was a slight difference with the original BDA file??

Anyway, I just thought I'd post my experience in case anyone else ends up in this situation.
