Hi,
Can someone please help

I`m looking for some advice on how to access EWA over the internet, I`ve got it working locally.

I have created a dynDNS account, what do I need to do next?

Thanks for any advice

Make sure your router inside your house allows the port to go to that computer.

You probably have to forward the ewa port (default= 7647) in your (modem)router to your gbpvr-server. Make sure that the server-firewall will let ewa through. Then from outside your lan (or inside, if your supports looping back) type something like:
petewxm.dyndns.org:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx

That should do it. If you want to stream stuff you have to forward and open the apropriate ports aswell.

Edit: Well it's obvious why Oz was quicker.Wink

Hi Thanks for the replys,

What I`ve done so for is
Is created a host in dynDNS called petewxm.dyndns.tv

I have enabled Dynamic DNS on my router and entered the following

service provider http://www.dyndns.org
Host, petewxm.dyndns.tv
Username, the one I registered
password, the one i registered

I then tried to access via the internet (with the firewall disabled) using this

http://www.petewxm.dyndns.tv:7647/gbpvr/guide.aspx

But nothing comes up

I think I may have the port closed, How do I open the port, I`m using a netgear router dg834g

Any ideas

Thanks

Pete

I think you have to switch on something at dyndns to be able to use www in front of your url. If you are not sure, don't use www that should always work. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I think when you register to dyndns it may take a while before you can use it.
I use no-ip.org, there it takes only 5 mins I think.

also I think I may have my port closed, I`m new to all this port forwarding, But I have checked here

http://www.canyouseeme.org/

and it says my port is not open, How do I open it?

The router I`m using is a netgear dg834g and I can`t see anything in the settings to open ports

Thanks for any advice you can give

I tried your adres (could have done that right away:o ), when I ping with www. pete-etc.. it won't work. without the www I get an ip-adres. However the ewa-adres without www won't work. You have to forward the 7647 port to your server-ip. Probably some where under nat-settings.
Otherwise google for netgear and forward.Smile

This might help, it's for using E-mule but if you change the right numbers I guess you should be ok.
