I am going to purchase Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-150. I was wondering if the card was done capturing a show and started another, I should be able to watch the first show becasue it is finished recording without interupting the second? I understand that I can record a show and watch another at the same time live. I was just making sure that if an event is recorded I should be able to watch it while recording another?

While I am at it: I assume you can play music or watch a dvd while recording a tv show too?

I think you've got it backwards.

You _can_ watch a recorded show, regardless of whether or not the card is recording (given your computer can keep up with the decoding). You can even watch any part of the show that is currently being recorded. Once it has been written to the hard drive, accessing it has nothing to do with the pvr card.

However, you _cannot_ record a show and watch another at the same time if you only have one card. The card itself can only be tuned into one station at a time.

Hope that helps.

yes that is what I meant to say thanks SgtPepperKSU2112. And only with a dual tuner card can you watch an record at the same time?

So gbpvr will allow multiple task like listening to mp3 while recording a show?

BTW does KSU mean Kansas State. I ask because I went there too.

With a dual tuner card, or two tuner cards installed, then you can recording one channel while watch another channel in live tv.
