Not sure what I am missing. I have the HD homerun successfully set up for both tuners recording unencrypted QAM. Recordings come out amazing now for a week (Id have to say better than my HD cable box). However, comskip will not run on those recordings. I have tried the options for running while the show is being records and after the show is done recording. Is it a file-type issue? I am not sure where to start.

What type of file are you recording? .mpg, .dvr-ms or .ts?

Im going to have to double check when i get home. I know it was using the windows default Mpeg icon. I was lucky in not having to really tweak anything in my settings/decoders/renderers once it was hooked up.

If its .dvr-ms, I think you need to make sure comskip is not set to run during the recording.

I assume this is defined by the mux selector? I want to say it defaulted on dvr-ms. Ill take a look. I did try having it run after the recording. Will check settings and retry when i get home. Thanks for the quick responses sub!

Either way, do a recording, then zip and attach the logs and I'll check that comskip is being run.

I thought that the HD homerun only created .ts files. Do you plan on using the edl file to cut out commercials?

Its pretty much the same as 'over the air' ATSC devices, and can record .dvr-ms, .ts, and .mpg (assuming a reliable ATSC mux can be found).

Big assumptionRolleyes

By the way, I was only able to get comskip and ATSC to work together with the time synced properly between the two by using edl files.

Yeah, I know, but the point was that the HDHomeRun is not limited to .ts files.

That said, it I know ATSC + Cyberlink mux is working well for standard definition channels. This might not suit US users, but I know there are some Canadian users that only receive standard definition channels via their QAM digital cable, and recording directly to .mpg via the Cyberlink mux works fine.
