I've uploaded a collection of recent Hauppauge dongles to try with GBPVR.

http://mvallevand.googlepages.com/hauppaugedongles

To me the two most important steps in getting the MediaMVP and GBPVR is working are to

1. improve your network performance
2. use the dongle appropriate to your needs

Once you find a dongle you like or if you want to try an alternative there is also the mvpmc dongle, but I suggest finding the best Hauppauge dongle for you.

It's free web space so I'm not sure what kind of bandwidth I have.

Where'd 1.1.54 come from, Martin? Any notable diffs from 52?

From the beta software at hauppauge.co.uk I haven't used it enough to notice any changes, and this time Hauppauge didn't update the revision note.

Edit: I temporarily removed the link from my site because I thought it had some problems, but they were my problems.

1.1.38 was in 97.13. I didn't upload this or 1.1.41 or 1.1.42
1.1.47 was in 98.08 through 99.05
1.1.52 was in 99.12

Is there a way to find out which version a dongle is? I would think this info would be stored in the dongle itself. My wired-only MVP seems not report it anywhere in the menus.

Tipstir: Can you describe what you did more? I would be very grateful. I have done these changes so far:
* Reverted to 1.1.47
* Applied the tcp-opt suggested at Hau we site
* Enabled onboard network processor on the NIC
* Have tried change speed/duplex on the card, but notice no different behaviour here.

No firewall running on GBPVR server, only Norton AV. I have a D-link router DI-524 (share a broadband connection) which should apply no constraints on LAN communications.

Starting with 1.1.38 the version is viewable in the dongle if you can open the file in a hex viewer or editor.

The first 80 bytes of the dongle should look like this sample and I highlighted the version number in bold. This dongle is 1.1.52 (01 01 034 in hex)

I have had a problem with 1.1.52 where the MVP exits live TV by itself and goes back to the GBPVR menu, when I try to go back to live TV it starts live TV but then stops responding to commands. The only button that responds is "power" so I then power it off and on and it sits at the "connecting to server" command forever. I run 2 servers in GBPVR but that doesn't help. Just started without a change in NW setup or server setup.
Has anyone else seen this?

Tried 1.1.54 but have a duplicate ghost image of the GBPVR menu above the main menu.
Is this my setup? It is only on 1.1.54

Going to try some of the other dongles. I tried MVPMC but never got the config file to load. I have also had RR/FF issues with all the dongles so far. Is my setup too slow? See below.
