Hi guys, I've searched through the forums on this but there haven't actually been precice instructions on how to do this.
I want my PC to wake up about 15 minutes before any scheduled recording. I have it hibernate. I know GBPVR has a "wake for epg reload" but I haven't found an option to actually wake for a recording.

Thanks guys.

it will tell the pc to wake up before a recording. How many minutes before is configured in config.exe under the capture settings tab (I think)

It always schedules the wake up for one minute before the pre-padding is due to kick in.

It should all just happen automagically. GB-PVR just tells Windows what time it would like it to ensure the machine is awake, and Windows takes care of the rest. In the past some users have had to enable settings in their bios to get this working - I couldnt tell you what those are exactly though.

I checked my bios, everything looks right. Power management is on, ACPI is on. Has anyone else had trouble with this?

<3 the technical explanation of things.

does your machine wake up from standby or hibernate normally? or do you have to hit the power button?

you can also check if windows will wake itself up by creating an event in the task scheduler and select the option to "wake the machine to run this event" or something. that will remove GB-PVR from the picture, to help isolate the problem

If ACPI was not enabled when you first installed XP, you will need to reinstall it.

OK, so, windows WILL wake itself up for a scheduled task, but not for a scheduled recording! What could be wrong?

Edit: Okay, this time it worked. It seems to boot up a few minutes before the show is scheduled to record, and I must have hibernated the PC too soon or something.

Edit again: And now it didn't wake to record Conan. This is getting confusing!

Okay, I found the problem. I'm using TV Listings, and it doesn't wake up for any programs that I set to record using the record button on my remote. When I select quick record or record, it works just fine.
