I live in Ireland, I have a Hauppauge HVR3000 and with wintv2000 I can find and view the Free to Air channels ( bbc 1, bbc2, bbc3 etc ) on Astra 2d.

My problem is I can't find these channels using GB-PVR - it does find channels but they look like they are encrypted ( sky based ). I have read the threads and tried different options with no success ( subs - NativeUtil patch). I have a universal LNB and have set these to 9750, 10600, 11700 - but this has made no difference.

GB-PVR - Is perfect for my needs in all other ways

Help the Irish Smile

Just to make sure:

1) What version of GBPVR are you using?
2) Only if prior to 99.5 - did you install the diseqc patch from here
3) Make sure you get the LNB settings right (you posted them in a different order):
LOF 1: 9750 (that's low band)
LOF Switch: 11700
LOF 2: 10600 (high band)

4) Then, scan again, zip and attach the logs. Also, include the logs from c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA (SCAN-*.cache)

Also, post the details of the LNB you are using on your setup, please.

Best

Thanks newyankee

Ok after a 4 hour stretch - I'm there with some issues... but there.

The solution to pick up the Astra 2d Free to Air channels was

1. Setup the LNB correctly as above
LOF 1: 9750 (that's low band)
LOF Switch: 11700
LOF 2: 10600 (high band)

2. Use a patched PsiParser.ax - PsiParser.zip
I got from this thread

Then I did a scan and whala it found them but then the issue was the GBPVR application would not start just crash so...

3. Then re-run the GBPVR install with the repair option and all is well ( i presume it replaced the patched psiparser.ax)

The issues are with the DVB EPG, so it looks like I will setup the xmltv - which is fine.

All in all the GBPVR is just so much better that the hauppauge offering of wintv2000.

why because its robust and as you said yourself newyankee "wife friendly" ( the real name for usability Smile )

Not without the support of this forum - and you and newyankee's previous efforts.

Thanks - NewZealand & Ireland just got a bit closer Smile

None of the channels on Astra2 appear to transmit a proper DVB EPG, only current and next program info. All EPG is in the proprietary Sky EPG. I use xmtlv.

One Question - Is it possible to input a sat channel manually instead of a rescan - I have the transponder and id information. Is there and "ini" or config file I can edit?

Thanks Velcrow

No, not really. You might be able to add an additional line to the .cache file in "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA". Next time you go in to the 'map digital channels to epg channels' screen, this should then be listed one that was found with the last scan.

Yeap - editing the ".cache" file did the trick. Just in case someone has a similar problem here is a description.

I scanned for channels with the patched "PsiParser.ax" and it found all the channels but it called a number of them "unknown 1" , "unknown 2" etc - the issue was the final list of channels found two "unknown 2" named channels - when mapped it only displayed the first "unknown 2" channel found.

The fix was to edit the ".cache" file and change the "unknown 2" to unique name "ITV 2" in my case - Then all the channels could be correctly referenced.
