Everything with v1.08 initially seems to be working fine except for the playback of recorded shows.

When I playback a recording it is DARK, so dark I can only barely make out that there is any motion there at all. The moment I pause or skip forward or anything like that everything brightens up and looks great.

I have started with the -fse switch with no change, it is still dark.

I tried in GBPVR with the VMR9, Custom, and FSE and there are no problems there.

I have been using the Cyberlink PDVD7 Video Decoder as I have found that has historically given me the smoothest playback on my system but in an effort to fix this I tried the DSCALER, ATI, NVIDIA, NERO, MPV, and GPL decoders as well and they behaved the same.

Any Ideas?

You guys just beat me to it. I was going to report the same thing.

I've found that anything that causes the OSD to come on will resolve the problem ---- mouse movements, volume changes, pauses, etc....

It happens for me on live tv or recorded shows.

I confirm that anything that causes the OSD to come on will resolve the problem.

However so far I have only seen the problems with recordings and not with live tv.

I have had the problem with live TV (both with my dvb and analogue sources) but I don't use Live Preview mode, so that could be why.

Ahh - I don't use live preview either. I found that if I use live preview I'm always wanting to rewind and nothing's there Smile

I have the same problem. I'll post some details about my situation so we can gather some more information out there.
  • I am running Win 2000, and so use the Overlay Manager (others don't work with Win2000. I have the PVR250 TV capture card.
  • With the old interface I had a similar problem whenever WinDVD v4 was open; playback of recordings and LiveTV was dark, especially in shadows, all details are lost. The interface itself was fine.
  • With the new interface, I have the same effect with playback even without WinDVD open.
  • When I start a playback, the entire screen is black, until I hit for example the volume and the volume OSD comes up. Then I get a picture, but as above, it is dark.
  • I note that the PVRX2 interface itself is also appears darker then it should be.

I haven't tried other Video Decoders yet, but the experience with WinDVD under the old interface would suggest that it partly depends on the Video Decoder. What do others think?

Can you guys reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your PVRX2.exe-native.log file.

Can someone also post a screenshot?

The default background in the new app is pretty dark. It looks cool on three of my TVs, but a little too dark on a fourth.
