This is a typical Windows thing in which the program doesn't write the GUI or paint the GUI so that the program looks 'transparent.'

Now what do I do? Reinstall gbpvr? I rebooted. Same problem. Before, it was working but now it won't start properly. I guess you can't tweak settings if you can't see anything.

I was going to ask a question about how to get the Hauppauge IR Blaster listed in the Channel Changer section of the Capture Card configuration (screen). The Hauppauge IR Blaster Plugin was not listed in the Channel Changer settings of the 'Edit Recording Resource' page.

Anyway, something is wrong and I'm not sure what has happened but gbpvr won't start up properly anymore. Is this due to the beta or did I do something or what?

Edit: Aside - this page below looks very helpful. But, how do I get to that point? I need to know how to do the above step and fix the program.

Can you post a screenshot so I know what you mean?

To use the Hauppauge IR Blaster, set the capture source to use the '.exe channel changer', and point it a the HaupBlast.exe utility in the GB-PVR directory.

Zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I ran the 'Config' part and it started up okay. I guess the gbpvr program I tried to start thinking it was the config. But, that was a strange response. Where would I find the log for that? I suppose that is the screen which will be for LiveTV?

I don't know how to post a screenshot. Do I have to upload the screenshot somewhere? Where do people upload it? What's a good site? Or is there another method?

Anyway, the new problem is at the 'Updating EPG' point. Zap2it is just hanging there. It's on 'Requesting..." etc. etc. Now what?

Zip and attach all the logs in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\logs.

You can attach screenshots. When you hit the 'go advanced' button below, the resulting screen has a button with a paper clip on it (above the editor) that can be used for attachments.

Zap2it have said they've had database problems the last couple of days, but it'll be resolved later today.

to create a screenshot, press ALT-PRTSC to copy an image of the screen to the clipboard.

run MSPAINT (or your favorite photo editor) and paste the new image in. Select a small section of the image that shows the problem and CTRl-C to copy this section to the clipboard. Create a new file, CTRL-N and paste the section into it. save as a jpeg.

In the forum click on advanced, click on the paperclip icon, browse for image file and then upload it. the close that window. when you post message, the image will be attached. You use this paperclip to upload zipped up log files.

I think zapit is broken up at the moment. there were some posts about this earlier.

what version of gbpvr are you running?

[oh what a surprise, sub beat me too it. I'm soo shocked.. :-)

What about this part?:
Quote:In order to properly connect to Zap2it, make sure you have an exception set in your firewall and in your anti-virus software. Users of McAfee VirusScan may need to disable the on-access scanner in order to receive Zap2it data.
I can log into my Zap2it settings at their website no problem.

I cant tell you anything about that specific part - its not a comment of mine. Its correct that if your firewall or antivirus gets in the way, then you may need to add an exception. Nothing new in any of this though. This has always been the case.

I posted what happened in another thread. I did get the Zap2it settings to load but when I selected 'Ok' and went to 'DVD and Remote', it was deleted and now all the settings I had in 'Capture Sources' is gone. Furthermore, everything I changed in 'Directories' has reverted back to default. I don't have enough room in C drive to allow the defaults.

I don't know what happened. Seems like a lot of bugs to me.

Could someone explain (in more detail) how you do this? I don't do these things often in Windows. I don't know where to find the image in clipboard etc.

Edit: Okay, I hope I did it right. Sorry, if there is any errors or problems created.

The zap2it problem wasnt a GB-PVR problem, just bad timing for you to install in the couple of days zap2it happened to have problems.

I'm not away of anything to cause capture sources to go missing. Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
