Hi
I`ve recently got purevideo and when I view video you can see fine lines across the screen, anyone know how to get rid of this? is it something to do with de-interlace mode, I`ve tried various settings and can`t get rid of them.

Also when viewing live tv I get motion blur when the camera pans around

Thanks for any advice

pete

lcd/plasma or regular CRT (i.e. are you trying to de-interlace or keep it interlaced)

for the later:
try setting purevideo to raw and deinterlace to film and select vmr9.

in config.exe set deinterlace to encoder passthrough.

in video card control panel (if you have one), try and set any deinterlacing option to weave (in ATI control panel) or none)

Hi I`m Using a LCD and a Nvidia 7600gt on XP home pentium4 3000mhz, 1.5gig of memory

I`ve only ever used GBPVR on the MVP, which worked great, but I bought a new 42" LCD and I thought I`ll move my pc into the living room. Ever since I can`t seem to get a great unblured paned image no matter which decoder I use, I`ve tried system defauly, cyberlink, nvidia and mvp and have tried post processing using ffdshow. Still no joy Sad
I love this program, I`ve got to get it working

Ps old shows that I recorded before I moved the PC play perfectly, but I did a fresh install and cant seem to get it back to how it was Sad

Thanks for any advice.

ah - Sorry I have no experience of getting a good picture of an LCD, i'm still on CRT..

perhaps have a good read of this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=18464

also:-
uninstall ffdshow
ensure lcd tv is the primary monitor (important).
set deinterlacing to auto in purevideo

I use PureVideo on my plasma and get great results with my deinterlace settings set at: Automatic and VMR default .. and using VMR9 Full screen exclusive. The problem you're describing is indeed a de-interlacing problem. What cable are you using to hookup your LCD?

use overlay manager with pure video
deinterlace control >auto (i tried the others and it would be 50/50 some would be good on one while would be good on the others so auto seemed to be the best )
deinterlace> best available
prefervmr9
hardware accel on

these settings work me
anything else gives me the lines in scene changes and jumpy pan shots

whats the refresh rate of the lcd
if you have an nvidia card set the frequency to either multiples of 25 or 30 depending on pal ntsc
and try and match the output to the native resolution of the lcd match pixel for pixel if you havent already (This does not mean the highest the tv can handle)

Thanks everyone for your replys.

I have got it working with stustunz settings,Thanks .

I`ve got a couple of questions though, does pvrx2 use overlay manager, I think I remember a thread saying it doesn`t.

Does anyone know a way of getting it to work with VMR, I tried sgilani`s settings it did take the lines away but I still had some pan blur.

I`m not keen on the blocky OSD overlay manager gives

Also how do you set the frequency of the Nvidia graphics card?

The LCD manual says the max I can set it to on a pc is 1024x768 but the native resoluation is 1366x768, so I dont think the lcd is capable of pixel to pixel, i can set the pc to 1360x768 but the fonts start looking odd. The LCD is curently on 60hertz but I can set it up to 85 but I`ve read somewhere that 60 is probably better.

Thanks for all your advice

pvrx2 uses vmr custom (Direct3D), irrespective of what you set the rendering method to so if you are running pvrx2, you are running vmr.

try launching pvrx2 from a batch file with the -fse option.

im not saying my settings are going to stop vmr working im just saying ive tried not using overlay manager and i get crap so i use what works
plus then the pure video icon comes up meaning its working if i dont use overlay this does not happen so you have no easy way to adjust settings on the fly
dont ask me why it just does
if you cant set the screen to the native try them all untill the text is clear and that will give you the best chance of getting a smooth clear picture
i use the old style nvidia control panel (the new one is awful) setup and it under the screen settings and refresh rates
You can add more there frequencies there aswell
you can also add custom screen resolutions at the bottom of the same screen so you could try adding the native resolution of your screen or something similar

the frequency should be 50/75/100 if you are using pal from what ive read that is what your tv reception is

Thanks everyone

I tried -fse on pvrx2 but unfortunatly I still get the motion/pan bluring.

What decoder is considered to be the best?

Cyberlink?
Intervideo?
purevideo?
MVP?
Are there anyothers out there.
Also does anyone have any links to download a few to try, like the mux cat

Sub what do you use and what version?

I`m determined to get good results on the new pvrx2

Thanks
