Hi

Just bought a Hauppauge Nova TD-500 twin tuner. I have the first device working fine and tuned in. When I set up the second capture source the second device is definitely found (shows when only show devices detected etc is on). I've tried device number 1 and 2 but I don't think this applies to twin tuners.

When I press map digital channels etc it gives a message "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device that you have configured etc."

Anyone have any ideas?

From memory you need to set up two capture sources, one as "Hauppauge Nova-TD Tuner 1", the other as "Hauppauge Nova-TD Tuner 2". Both need to be set as device #1.

If this doesnt work for you, zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Must have been an abherrant space in the filter names:

Following works, note that hauppauge have changed the filter names

[Hauppauge Nova-TD-500 DVB-T (1)]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge Nova-TD-500 DVB-T (2)]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path1) "
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I think someone posted this info a few weeks back and I'd updated the bda.ini with:

[Hauppauge Nova-TD Tuner 1]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge Nova-TD Tuner 2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path1) "
FILTER_CAPTURE="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 DVB-T Capture (Dev1 Path1) "
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Its probably best you rename yours to match, otherwise you'll have to remember to update the bda.ini file with each release.
