MG-35 instead of MediaMVP?

Hi,

I am new to GB-PVR but have read a few messages talking about tries to work with MG-35, this would really be great as this media player works fine, but miss live tv from a remote pc with tv tuner, and gb-pvr would of course do it and much more...

Is it true that work is done on this? Will it be a custom firmware for the MG-35 to work with GB-PVR?

Mediagate MG-35 (and Freecom MediaPlayer-35, the clone) is a famous product and GB-PVR would just be a wonderful new huge set of features for it!

My first port of mvpmc emulation mode will be to the mg-35. Don't expect the screens to look as good or render as fast as on the mvp.

So if I got to the next level, buy a new PC, bought a HD LCD TV and if I managed to get cable to give me a HD feed, which of these would be compatible with GB-PVR and mvpmc, for HD .... ??http://www.mpire.com/media-streamers-1.html :-)

[EDIT]. What's the story with the Hard Disk? Surely even if you saved movies on the MG-350 HD, it would be MG-350=>PC(GBPVR)=MG-35-=>TV (the LONG way round?)

From a quick glance none of them could run mvpmc. To be able to do this we need enough information about the hardware to compile and load the application, control the OSD framebuffer, a/v subsystem and remote control. The list I have for non-pc solutions is very short

MediaMVP
DLINK 320
Mediagate MG-35
xbox

And for HD
Roku HD 1000
Sony PS3 ?

If anyone could add to this list I'd be interested. I get most of my info from avsforum and mpcclub.

What's the story with the Hard Disk?

For GBPVR/mvpmc use it really would just enable me to load the app and libraries from the disk with very little configuration and to have more memory in swap space. This will be needed because the mg-35 is not as powerful as the mvp.
