Ok, I installed the update but now on the little g on the taskbar start pvrx2 in there instead of gb-pvr. I don't want. to use pvrx2.

basically if you dont want pvrx2 dont upgrade as 99.12GBpvr.exe is no longer been updated so you really gain nothing

GBPVR for now, is still available from the start menu.

If you want to use the old GBPVR.exe interface you're probably best to stick with an old release. PVRX2.exe is now the GB-PVR user interface.

I've not had a chance to upgrade yet, just about to download .16
Out of curiosity will an earlier GB-PVR version of the frontend be usable with updated recording services for a while? I ask because I still use the old interface on a PC client for it's search facilities to find and tag recordings.

Sorry no. You really need to be running the client and server PCs on the same version.
