I searched the forum, and did not come up with any discussion of the problem I am encountering.
I am a long-time user of a PVR150MCE, and have had good luck and good picture quality.
I recently decided to add another tuner, so I purchased a HVR1600 (thinking ahead to when I may want QAM) and it installed without too much fuss. I am currently only using the analog side, however. I can tune all the analog channels that the PVR150 does, and signal strength seems good.
However, recordings done by the 1600 are darker than the 150, and the reds seem oversaturated. The 150 is producing recordings just the same as it always did.
Is there a setting somewhere that I can adjust the 1600's picture to be more similar to the 150's picture? Is anyone else encountering this problem?

I see the same thing. I had two PVR150's and used the hauppauge tweak tool to get the color/brightness adjusted properly. I replaced one of the 150s with the HVR1600 and it is much darker. I am hesitant to use the tweak tool again for fear of messing with the 150 settings.

Does anyone know if the tweak tool will work to adjust settings for the HVR1600 and not change the PVR150 settings?
What, me worry?

I am glad to hear that I am not alone (and not crazy)!
I have not tried the tweak tool. I don't have that utility, where did you get it?
As long as it recognizes the 1600 (it is a pretty new card) and can select between the two tuners, it might work.
If you know where I might get my hands on it, I may give it a try.

It's listed on the GBPVR Wiki HauppaugeTweakTool

It looks like the tool has not been updated in a while, it does not list the 1600, so I am hesitant to use it. Let me know if you do. Big Grin

I have the same problem with two PVR-150's and a HVR-1600 all using the latest drivers. Haven't tried the Tweak tool yet.

btw: My 1600 has the -41 tuner. Which version is yours?. Does anyone know the difference between the -21 and -41 tuners?

I have the -21 tuner, but I am not aware of the differences between the two.

It will actually be printed right on the metal "box" housing the tuner on the card. I just recently installed mine, that's why I remember. I am not sure if there is a way to tell without physically looking at it.

If you have any of the drivers laying around, find the file PRODINFO.EXE. It's got a TV icon with the letters HCW in green. Run that and it'll show you everything about the tuner, the first line would be your model and revision.
