I'm still running GBPVR version 0.98.13 because it's the last stable version that has acceptable WAFAF in my house. Yea, I've tried them all.

I've downloaded Yapi2XML and configured it to capture my local analog cable provider channel listings and TV guide schedules and an xml file is generated. So far so good. I'm using the default directories suggested in the Yapi2XML wiki, so Yapi2XML creates the file in it's own directory called yapixml.xml as expected.

From that point, how does the yapixml.xml file present itself to GBPVR as the TV guide listings file rather than the zap2it listings file that is automatically generated from GBPVR each night?

Basically GBPVR v0.98.13 still runs it's zap2it profile at the scheduled time and that is the xml file that gets used for the TV guide in GBPVR.

I can copy the Yapi2XML generated yapixml.xml file and over-write the zap2it.xml file in it's default directory and this works OK but can't this be automated so it just does it on it's own.

I don't know if v0.98.13 is different but in the latest version I had to go into Capture Sources and change the epg source to XMLTV Plugin. Then in Settings you can select the yapixml.xml file.

Now the next thing is to set that bat file up so yapi2xml runs when you select UpdateEPG. I haven't gotten to that part myself yet..

This directions are spot on. I'll probably even add it to the wiki to help everyone out Smile.

The UpdateEPG.bat file is included in the newest zips of the application and just throw that in the gbpvr directory and it'll run YApi2XML before updating gbpvr.

Thank you bigC, you're explanation was perfect. I have it set up now.

Thank you too Oz for creating YApi2XML. As you suggested, I'd already setup UpdateEPG.bat per your instructions on the wiki but needed the nudge from bigC to pull it all together.

I'll check the TV guide tomorrow after it runs an update at 1:00AM tomorrow morning.

Wakalaka Wrote:Can you have it output a string when you run it with the "update" option? I run UpdateEPG.bat and I don't know it's running unless I look at Task Manager and see it sucking up my CPU cycles.

How big of a problem is that? VB doesn't natively have output to the console window so I'll have to add an API to do it, which is probably smart but not an immediate priority since I want to make sure the program does as much for as many people as possible before Sept. 1 Smile

XShocK Wrote:The Yapi2XML fails when there are more channels on one channel(yes, weird and wrong, but look at Zip:21136 Comcast Baltimore County Digital, channels 003,004,005,056,064 have duplicates). I just removed all those from the .ini file completely, but it would be nice to fix that issue.

What sort of issue are you getting. Can you attach the gbpvr logs. When I run the latest version of YApi2XML it automatically detected that those were doubleups and removed them from the checkboxes. This means they shouldn't be included in the channel lineup (well, one will be).

Are those actually two different stations? If so, how does one get tuned and not the other. The fix to this may mean allowing multiple channels and using a - or . so like 003 and 003.1 . Any other information you have about those channels would be great.

New version released, 1.1.9 with the following changes:
From 1.1.6 to 1.1.9
* Added on-screen episode number
* Changed to 4 digit channel identifiers
* Fixed the star rating to always have a decimal
* Added option to add the period in the episode number, this makes it work with Video Archive (you may need to check this for iXMLTV). The old default was to have the period!
* Changed to the new original air date format per Schedules Direct. Now <previously-shown start="originalairdate">.
* Added an option to decide how many days must pass until a show is considered a repeat (default is 6)
* Removed original air date from <date> field (unless its a movie)

Just wanted to say thank you! For various reasons I'm stuck at 99.12, and with Zap2It going away, I was pretty much screwed. I got this up and going last night, and it seems to work quite well.

The only issue I'm having is in the TV Guide, I've got a bunch of duplicate channels (it seems to record okay, it's just confusing in the Guide). I double-checked that there weren't any dupes when I ran yapi2xml initially, and I also checked in GBPVR's config. Any ideas on that? I can send a log when I get home tonight if you need it.

Thanks, Oz. I've only got one tuner, but I assume it's the same fix. I'll try that out tonight.
