Well this beats all, I hope someone out there has seen this behaviour and can help...

(0) See system description in SIG below

(1) Config set to do Commercial Detection using "Comskip" "Run during recording".
From PVRX2 I set up to record two shows (Comcast analog), same time slot.

(2) Examining the completed recording files gives the following information.
(a) "first" mpg file includes the first program's content -until the time when the second prog starts- thereafter the content in this "first" file comes from "second" program/channel.
(b) "second" mpg file has no content (viewed either in GB-PVR or VLC) -but is prox twice normal size wrt the time span of recording.

(3) This system was (prior to first occurrence of this puzzlement yesterday) successfully recording and comskipping two progs being recorded at same time, and doing so for quite some time.

(4) Logs attached cuz I hope to heqq they'll help someone help me.

Thanks a lot for any help, suggestions, commiseration,
TomH

THX to "elite" (post#2) for your suggestions - I've done that and am posting another set of logs for a second case to study.

Not sure I can be any help, but you might want to change the logging level to "debug" and possibly check "flush log messages to disk" in config

Edit: To add that you will then need to reproduce the error... and to offer my commiserations!

Elite, thanks, I needed that Smile
I followed your good suggestions...
Attached are debug level logs for a new instance of the problem.
Notes:
(1) the recording of CSI starts prox 13:50 DST
(2) the recording of FLW starts prox 13:55:16 (frame 8212)
(3) both ended at 14:00:00
(4)The CSI mpg file (272.9MB) has CSI content for the first 4m:34s minutes then the content changes to the FLW program content. Quality is as normal throughout, btw.
(5)The FLW mpg file (285.4MB) shows NO content at all (viewed in GB-PVR and VLC).

Again, thanks for any help,

What capture sources do you have setup, and what are the device numbers for each of those?

Hi sub, thanks for looking,

HVR 1600 as source #1
PVR- 350 as source#1

This has been the usual config.

EDIT of course I should have typed HVR 1600

Can you post screenshots of your capture source settings? I'm sure your problem is in there.

Can you also show me screenshots for the 'recording source' settings for each of those?

Attached...

The HVR-1600 in the analog mode as I am running is is a PVR-150. So that was the recommended 'Capture Card Type' setting according to Hauppauge
It is also the setting that has been working since day 1..

You needed to select 'Hauppauge HVR-1600 (Analog)' not 'Hauppauge PVR150'.
