OK. A bit off-the-wall, but has anyone got any ideas as to removing on-screen channel logos from recordings?
The screenshot attached shows what I mean. Your man here seems to have BBC THREE tatooed on his head. Call me a perfectionist or whatever but I find this sort of thing really distracting - when I'm following a tense scene and dialogue, I don't want to see this sort of thing. It's like the annoying fly buzzing around your head that you can't catch.
The logo seems to be a semi-transparent overlay which is applied before transmission. What would be really cool is an analysis tool that you could teach the level of transparency of the logo and would then invert or enhance the background colours to effectively remove the logo.
It could run as a post-processing task maybe - I'd be quite happy to wait for an hour or so to watch a recording if that damn fly wasn't buzzing around my head.
Or maybe I should just build a bridge and get over it.
Cheers,
Brian
