does anyone use the new "advanced, but doesn't work" task scheduler?

i'm trying to update my XMLTV scrapper manually, however, the task does not run at all. (this new scheulder is different than the xp ver) tasks say the run, however, in a 1 second duration (for example fired off on 7:59.59 am and ran till 8:00.00)

this is for all tasks i try to automate Sad either command line, nor executables.

is anyone else having issues like this? i hate having to manually update my EPG every 36hrs

Maybe gbpvr does a better job: you can make a updateepg.bat, in there you put the commandline for the update appl. It will be run by gbpvr at the time set in config-capture sources. Nb: e.g. when you set it at 04.00
it will run sometime between 4 and 5, this is to prevent the epgserver from being flooded at exactly 04.00 (in this example).

Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

this my updateepg.bat:

Code:
cd xmltv
start /low /wait /MIN xmltv tv_grab_nl --quiet --output xmltv.xml
start /low /wait /MIN cleanxmltv xmltv.xml --output clean.xml
exit

My xmltv program is in: devnz\gbpvr\xmltv, the first line is the epg download, the 2nd is a cleaning routine by nthe xmltv program.

There is a gotcha that I have discovered both for scheduled tasks and batch files. Even if you supply the full path to the executable it fails to find the prog. What you need to do is supply the "Start in" entry.

I couldn't figure out why a batch file, even placed in the folder where the executable was, wouldn't run yet a shortcut placed anywhere would. Yes, the shortcut fills in the start in entry!

I now have a couple of scheduled tasks running happily, incl the xmltv update.
