Delayed response with PVR350

When connecting Sky digibox via Svideo to a Hauppage PVR350, the picture and sound are both fine, but getting a response from a Sky remote control request can take 7 or 8 seconds. I.e. it takes 8 seconds for the signal get from the digibox to the screen. Is there a deliberate or configurable delay in there?

it is the time the board/software takes to decode the signal.7-8 seconds does seem a little excessive however and I would suggest that it may also be buffering slightly for the advanced PVR options (rewind, pause etc)
