I have a strange setup. My tuner card is sitting in my home 250 miles away. recording my Tv shows and transcoding to smallish Mpeg4 files.
I want to have here my gbpvr have those recording show up in my recordings section. I already haveworked out the magic that will transport the recording from the generic linux box far away so the mp4 files end up on the gbpvr box 's hard drive in a folder called c:/recordings
is there a way I can make gbpvr see those files that appear once an hour as if they were gbpvr recordings and list them and play them?
I can change the remote recording box to be a gbpvr box, but the files MUST be transcoded to a very small compressed format to make it here over the internet in a timely fashon and not trigger the internet bandwith police alarms.
Can this be done? make gbpvr see recording and fake it out to believe it recorded them so it will display them in the recordings section?
