Screen saver not working in 1.0.16 - suggestions?

Still can't get my screen saver working in 1.0.16

If I look in my log file I have multiple occurances of:

2007-09-11 09:04:05.796 VERBOSE [1] DisableScreenSaver()

I also tried using both "Simple Screen Saver" or "Screen Saver" in the config.xml:

<ScreenSaverEnabled>true</ScreenSaverEnabled>
<ScreenSaverPlugin>Screen Saver</ScreenSaverPlugin>
<ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>60</ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>

Still no luck. Anyone having luck fixing this? Or has anyone gotten an older screen saver plugin to work with 1.0.16 as a temporary measure?

I don't think its setup in PVRX2.exe. Hopefully it'll make a return in the next version.

Actually, I was surprised to find that it works on my client PC, but not on my server (both running 1.0.16 with the Community skin). When I have some time I'll try to compare the two installations.

It should be either "Simple Screen Saver" or "Default Screen Saver".

It works here. I've some post indicating problems when they added sub menus, but I havnt tested this personally.

Sub, thanks for reply. Still not working, even with "Default Screen Saver" in my config.xml

I don't know if this is any help in figuring out the problem for everyone, but I'm launching GBPVR with "PVRX2.exe -FSE" and using the Community Skin.

Can you try it with the blue skin? If its still not working, start the app and leave it setting at the main menu for a few minutes, then zip and attach the PVRX2.exe.log and I'll take a look. (enable log flushing in the config app first)

Hi Sub,

I tried the default blue skin, with and without the -fse parameter, and also "default screen saver" and "screen saver". Still no go on any combination.

Here is the debug log. This the log when I used the -fse parameter, blue skin, and the parameter "default screen saver" in the config.xml. Other from this problem, I'm glad to say that I'm not having any trouble with 1.0.16.

Thanks for all your efforts regardless. I also tried the new .exe you posted on the forums yesterday and still no go. Down the line if there's anything else you may need to help you troubleshoot the problem for people affected by this bug (i.e - my system specefics, etc) please let me know with a PM.
