Just bought a new HD tv and the colour using mvp on rgb scart is really green - the standard blue skin is completely green. Is there a config setting I can adjust?

Edit: this problem was fixed in this thread I originally put on support http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=29534

Gotta ask the obvious.... are there three separate plugs for red green and blue? have you mixed them up?

MVP can't handle HDTV - only SD. However, the TV itself although designed for HD should also be capable of showing SD too.

Have you tried a different scart cable? Have you connected the TV to a different source (an STB for example) to check the performance of the TV itself?

hmmm I thought the tv should be upscaling the signal from the mvp, even though the mvp won't play hd? I just swapped the scart cable and everything is the same. The tv should play scart ok ... it played the dvd ok till I switched that over to component. This is really odd...

It won't upscale as in 'blue-ray dvd player will upscale your existing dvd's to HD quality' but it should adjust your picture similar to viewing 16-9 stuff on a 4-3 TV. I only mentioned the scart cable because I've have problems with them in the past - I've had experience of scart connections losing audio or video or one of the colours - usually caused by a cable connection. Sometime the cable itself puts enough strain on the connection to compromise it.

Scart connections are not as physically robust as dvi or composite or most of the others.

Sorry if this didn't helpSad

You could try the solution at the bottom of this page, it talks about Green MVP hues with SCART connections.

IIRC To Get RGB from the MVP I seem to remember having to set the output format with the Hauppauge software. (I could be wrong, it's a long time ago I set mine up)

It sounds like your MVP is outputting Composite video, while your TV is expecting RGB. The composite video is gettting picked up on the green signal of the RGB wires. IIRC these signals are shared in the MVP.

Its probably easier to scan throught the input modes for the Scart socket on your Tv for RGB / Composite-Video / S-Video. If the colour comes good with the TV set to composite then you can either leave them both as composite or change them both to RGB.

I've never seen SCART before, so I thought it was possible to have discreet colour channels...
