Black screen with audio

I've been running an HVR-1600 just fine prior to installing a spare PVR-150. Now the PVR-150 works fine, but the HVR-1600 only gives me audio but not video. If I turn off "Use Live Preview mode if possible", I'd get video and audio from both cards (but the picture would be stretched on my widescreen monitor, i.e. without the black bars on the sides). What might be wrong with my setup?

TIA!

Nothing springs to mind, but reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Here are the log files. Perhaps I should also mention currently only gbpvr works, but not pvrx2, which would promptly reboot the computer (This was cured before by changing to using VMR7 on my Nvidia 6150 onboard video with the latest driver).

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The first thing I'd do is set the deinterlacing setting back to the default 'encoder passthrough'.

What video decoders are listed on the playback tab of your config app?

That sounds like a video driver problem.

the rebooting thing is a bit of a worry i would clear out your video driver and reload it or try a different one

Interesting: setting the interlacing to "encoder passthrough" did the trick! Brilliant! There are 3 video decoders in the playback tab: HCW MPEG-2 Decoder, Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder, and InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder; only the InterVideo works. What in your opinion are some of that might be better performing?

The next thing I'm about to try is to pop in a spare GeForce 7600 and see if that'd make a difference.

Thanks for all your suggestions! Keep'em coming if something else come to mind! Smile

Great.

Everyone seems to have a different opinion on which decoders are best. I dont like to wade into that one. There are plenty of threads discussing such things.

That's fair enough. However, if you were me, would you use the existing InterVideo one, or something else?

prvx2 is now working using the 7600GT, by the way. Smile

I'm not a huge fan of the Intervideo decoder, but please refer to my last post Big Grin
