These questions have probably been answered elsewhere but I could not find them.

1. on the EPG, my older version would highlight programs in red to indicate that they would be or were recording. In the new version, I see a red bar at the top on the timeline. Is this the way it is now supposed to work? I prefer red highlight on the actual program.

2. while watching liveTV, in the old version I could press guide on the remote and bring up the epg at the bottom of the screen; then I could highlight a program on another (or the same) channel, press enter on the remote and have a menu appear that allows me to set GBPVR to record the show. Under the new version, the guide appears at the bottom of the screen but when I highlight a program and press enter, the channel changes to channel being highlighted. There seems to be no option to set the PVR to record.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed and please point me to the appropriate thread.

Thanks

It should also highlight the show itself. Manual Recordings only highlight the timeline.

This type of guide will return in the future. At the the moment it only has the equivalent of the mini-guide, accessed by Ctrl-G in previous releases (used for see what was on the other channels, and for changing channels).

OK, great

Any reason why not getting red highlight on the epg now? Any suggestions on things to try?

If you go to the TV Guide and schedule a new one-off recording, does it highlight the show red? (ie, is this only happening with recordings scheduled previously?)

yes, it highlights red; if I am watching a show and press the record button on the remote, it begins recording after answering the confirmation question; however, in the epg, the show is not highlighted in red but there is a red bar on the time bar. Also, if you now select the show that is being recorded in the epg, the menu does NOT have the option to play the file. It has the standard close, quick record, record, find all and watch buttons. This seems like a bug.

Its definitely not doing that here for me. If I press do that here, it marks both the status bar and show as red.

Do you have the 'complete EPG reload' option enabled in the config app?

If you press the right or left arrow keys in the tv guide, does it immediately move to the next show, or does it seem to take multiple key presses?

Is this PVRX2.exe or GBPVR.exe?

unning pvrx2.exe

complete epg reload IS enabled

right and left arrow seem to move to next show immediately

OK, it seems to only happen if after starting the recording while watching the show and then pressing the back/exit button on the remote to bring up the epg. If I start watching TV using the LiveTV button in the main menu and start a recording as described above, then press the back/exit button (which now returns me to the main menu) and I now enter the recording guide, the red highlight bar is there.

So it seems that only when I enter the program guide using the back/exit button directly from livetv that the problem occurs. I hope you can follow the above; I know I was not real clear about it.

Ok, thats the normal expected behaviour. When you start a recording from in live tv, it actually makes a manual recording behind the scenes, which would explain why you're only seeing the timeline highlighting you'd get with a manual recording. I'm fine with this.

I see,

So why does it highlight the program after leaving and then re-entering the program guide? Does the manual record feature do this also? (I hardly ever use the manual record feature)
