Can't get GBPVR to work with Nova-T-500

I've just installed a Nova-T-500 card and installed GBPVR following recommendations this is the the best free PVR software. Unfortunately after doing all the setup when i launch PVRX2 I just get a black screen. i followed the Quick Install guide but that didn't help. Can anyone give me a hand setting this up as things are getting a bit frustrating and Top Gear is on in a day or so which i'd love to get recorded.

Did you do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step? ie scan for channels.

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed?

I've done the 'map digital change to epg channels' as when it runs thro the process, tv channels do appear in the little window on that particular screen and i get sound. i've just set it away again so i'll see what happens this time.

I've got PowerDVD6 installed on my PC so have selected them for the video and audio in the 'software MPEG2 Playback' options.

The mapping has just finished and nothing has changed - just get a black screen when starting PVRX2

Nothing springs to mind, but zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I cant see any attempts to use live tv in those logs.

Do you actually see the menu in PVRX2?

Its most likely because your video card isnt up to the Direct3D requirements of PVRX2.exe.

What video card do you have?

i've got an Nvidia 7600GT AGP

That card would be fine.

I'm not really sure what to suggest, but I dont think its anything to do with you Nova-T or how it is setup. The device isnt actually used in anyway until you hit the live tv button in the menu, but your problem is occurring much earlier.
