My setup was working great but I wanted to change the tuner priorities. When I added the HDHomeRun (HDHR) tuners, for some reason it put one of them at the top of the priority list and the other at the bottom of the list. I wanted to put both HDHR tuners at the bottom of the list because I'm limited on HDD space right now and didn't want to record some of the crap we watch in HD and risk running outta room (for the other junk Wink ).

BTW, tuner device # and priority were:
1. HDHomeRun 0 - device #3 (ATSC)
2. PVR150MCE - device #1 (svideo to Dish STB)
3. PVR150MCE - device #2 (antenna)
4. HDHomeRun 1 - device #3 (ATSC)

So I move HDHR 0 down under PVR150MCE (antenna). Click OK to close the config.

After that, I could no longer watch LiveTV. The screen goes blank then returns back to the menu. I can play previous recordings okay but can't watch LiveTV.

I go back into config and the priority is how I intended it, so I go into the map channels menu on HDHR 0 and Config crashes. Go back to Config an try it again on HDHR 1 and it says that the BDA device is not found or in use. I look at the config of HDHR 0 and it is now listed as device #1 ... same as the PVR150MCE (Dish). I change it back to #3 and verify that the other device #s are correct (they were). But still can't watch LiveTV and when I tried map channels menu on either HDHR, it said the BDA device was in use or not found. (BTW, both HDHR tuners work just fine with the VLC player). So i remove both HDHR tuners from the list. I can watch LiveTV thru the antenna tuner but when choosing a channel on the Dish tuner, blank screen then back to the menu. @%*(#)_$.

I'm gonna hazard and guess and say the device mappings are trashed. So if I remove both PVR150MCE tuners, will i have to re-program all my recurring recordings? Is there a way to export the recurring recordings so at the very least, I'd know what dates/times/channels/etc are so i can punch them all back in?

Thanks

Something about your device numbers worries me.
I have a PVR150 (tuned RF and fixed RF for STB) and a dual digital tuner and all four sources have a device number of 1 (and they all work).

I thought the device number was the logical board number, per identical board - so each board type starts at 1. (I may well be wrong of course!)

Not sure about exporting recurring, there has been a change with .16 but I've not looked at it yet.

Hmm. My PVR physically has two PVR150 cards in it. But if I understand your config, you have two cards... a PVR150 and Nova-T and all using the same device number?

I guess I don't understand what the device numbers mean then. Just odd that it was all working fine and then changing the priorities with the mysterious buttons (no arrows on them) fouled it all up. Probably cascades to my ignorance on why I have to enter the Schedules Direct stuff four times when I really only have two lineups (one for Dish, the other for OTA).

Afaik you only increase the device number if the devices are using the same drivers. If they are not they are all device nr 1.

edit: so in your case the homeruns should be 1 and 2 and the 150's should be 1 and 2 aswell. You might have to switch the numbers around if it doesn't work.

The device numbers only increase if you have more than one device sharing the same driver names. ie, a PVR150 and Nova-T use different drivers withd different name so they'd both be device #1. The HDHomeRun also has different drivers, and different names for both tuners, so both of these also get device #1.

EDIT: HtV got to it before me...

So...

1. PVR150MCE - device #1 (svideo to Dish STB)
2. PVR150MCE - device #2 (antenna)
3. HDHomeRun 0 - device #1 (ATSC)
4. HDHomeRun 1 - device #1 (ATSC)

Different manufacturers do it different ways. In the HDHomeRun case, they use the same drivers, but the driver uses different names for it's BDA filters, so they both end up being device #1.
