Problems with Digital and HD channels

I am using GBPVR 1.0.16 with all the patches from the survival guide applied. My computer is an Athlon64 X-2 running Vista Ultimate. My Digital/HD device is an HD-HomeRun.

I can record all digital channels and HD channels just fine, but when I go to watch a digital recording, I get no sound. I get no audio or video when watching an HD recording in PVRX2. Same results watching live TV on digital and HD channels.

If I open the recordings in Windows Media Player, they play back perfectly. I am using the Roxio Cineplayer Decoder Pack for Windows Vista 1.0:

I tried adding the video and audio decoders to their respective lists of usable decoders in the config.xml and specifying them in the Config app. After that, I get video in both HD and Digital recordings, but still no audio, and no audio on Digital channels and nothing on HD channels.

Attached are my logs after playing a digital recording, an HD recording, then watching Live TV on a digital channel and an HD channel.

What audio decoders have you tried? All those logs show it using "Microsoft MPEG-1/DD Audio Decoder", which I'm guessing doesnt handle AC3 audio.

You can probably fix it by installing AC3Filter, or some other AC3 capable audio decoder.

Well, I'm guessing media player is using the Roxio Cineplayer audio decoder (as it should be since that is exactly what the codec is made to do), which I'd like to be able to have PVRX2 use. Is there a way to see what codecs media player is using to play the digital and HD content, and then have PVRX2 use the same codecs? Since it works so well, I'd like PVRX2 to use the same codecs.

If you have ffmpeg installed by right clicking on the ffmpeg icon in the system tray, then it can spy on what decoders MediaPlayer is using.

I'm sorry, I didn't answer your original question:

I've tried NVidia PureVideo (No AC3, stutters alot), the decoders that ship with Vista Ultimate (no HD or AC3 capabilities), and the ones I'm trying to use now. I uninstalled the NVidia decoder before installing the Roxio decoder.

Try installing AC3Filter.
