I would like to see a way, possibly via the system menu, of changing the video or audio decoder on-the-fly. I haven't found one pair that meets all my HD/SD sports and quality requirements. The current process is very time consuming and since it really is client only code, it unnecessarily (config.xml aside) causes the record service to restart, killing running recordings and disconnecting all mvp clients.

I would still like to see the power on/startup default stored via config.exe,

The old app used to support this via the System -> Settings screen. I havnt had time to replace this screen yet in PVRX2, but it'll retain the same feature.

Are you finding you're using one decoder for HD, and another for SD? Unfortunately I usually dont know which of these its going to be by the time playback starts (or what channels the user will later change to), otherwise I could have looked to add an HD / SD decoder setting.

For full screen I've found that if it work for HD it works for SD but there are caveats

- for SD sports in a small window I have terrible problems with tearing that I don't see even in HD windowed. The MainConcept 1.0 works best for me but I find its not as good quality wise as I enlarge the screen. However if I want full screen SD I typically use the mvp anyway. The MPV decoder seems to provide nice quality for everything but sports where it makes me feel nauseous even at full screen.

- for HD the issue is more a/v sync and testing going through the permutations of decoders is a pain. I think I've got it now, but I'm not sure I've got the perfect combination. 1080i seems pretty good on several decoders. a/v sync isn't an issue for me at SD.

One thing that really has helped with my HVR 1600 is the new signal strength tool since I know when the signal is best. Before there were too many elements involved and I never got to tune for quality.
