Hi!

Is there a possibility to schedule a record from a connected client PC within the database of the "pvr-server"? Everytime i try, it refuses this without any hint or text.

I do this all the time. Do you have your mapped drives set up correctly?

They're connected in streaming mode. The clients can read the database and watch tv and recordings; these parts works perfect. But not the scheduling of records.
It looks like as the Clients didn't had permission to write to the database (even they are known as user on the user account of the server and have full rights on these folders).

double check you have all folders shared and the data base file aswell
gbpvr folder needs to be shared aswell

firewall is the only other thing that could get in the way
can you delete recordings from the client? if you cant that would tell you that you havennt shared everything properly

The folders are shared, including the database and the gb-pvr folder.

Firewall is disabled on all 3 machines.

Deleting i have to check out.

No, deleting is NOT possible. I'll be asked if i want to delete the recording and even if i try to delete this it remains. But the recording folder has only read-permission for the clients (it's on another HardDisk, i have six harddisks an use one 320 GB Disk for recordings).
The database is on another harddisk WITH writepermission.

i think you just answered your own question
change that to allow network users to change files
the client machine need to have the same control as the server if you want to use these features

Mhm, as i said:
GB-PVR Folder: Write permission is given

MediaFolders: Write permission is NOT given

But i will try to set all shares for write permission.

if the client machine cant write to all harddrives how is it going to delete anything
im still thinking for some reason your client machine cant change the database
make sure it can by opening the database and changing something
but first make a copy of it with the server machine just incase you stuff it up

Absolutely NO success!

I can't schedule any record from one client and i can't delete any recording within gb-pvr (from explorer.exe this is possible). Delete shall not be possible, btw., because auf this there's normally only read permission for the recordingdrive.
But the clients should be able to shedule records, but they can't do this. I want to say again: The Clients acts as STREAMINGCLIENTS(!) only the database can be configured within config as share, the other both fields are grayed down in streaming client mode.

I think in Filemode it works to change the database, but it seems that streamingmode doesn't allow this.

Any more ideas?

can you change the database accessing it from the client
double check the permissions on the gbpvr folder you must have read and write permissions on the folder

i really cant see any other reason you wouldnt be able to schedule anything other than you have the folder name wrong or the data base share wrong in the config
does the tv guide come up ok on the client ?
