was recording true stories uncut from 21:40to 22:40(stopped to record next show by recording service thats fine)
started recording dog the bounty hunter at 22:39 :00
heres where it went south Sad
decided it still wanted to record true stories uncut
stopped dog at 22:39:02 and recorded another minute or so of that then that was it no more dog

i have had the same set up for recording for ages what has changed?

I dont know. I cant see an obvious cause in the logs.

If you can find a reproducible set of steps so I can see the problem here, I'm sure I'd be able to find the cause and stop it happening in future.

has some logic changed in how it handles the padding ?
why would it stop the recording then restart the same one thats just weird
i could understand if it stopped the recording then restarted the next one again
it did it for one but not the other

Yes, but I cant see how it would account for this happening, and I've not seen any other reports of this.

bugger just the answer i hoped i wouldnt read
i wonder what i have done
do you think the patch would help i havent applied it (survival guide)?
would it make any difference that one recording was an old scheduled(from previous version) one where the other was new one (as in one off recording)?

You should always apply any patches I've listed in the survival guide. I dont think it would have specifically helped with this though.

I have no idea what caused you problem, so I'd only be guessing.

ok i didnt know that
i have only ever installed the ones that i thought i had a problem relating to
to tell you the truth i hardly ever have problems other than my video playback which isnt gbpvrs fault

i use alternating recording aswell should i read somewhere this seems to be causing problems would that be related ?

The only problem I'm aware of with the <PreferAlternatingCaptureSources> setting, is that it can cause some recordings to be mark as conflicts. This is really just a problem that happens at 'scheduling time' rather then 'recording time'. I shouldnt have lead to the problem you had.

With the patch installed, I think the best scheduling results are achieved with:

<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>false</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
<TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>true</TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>
