Have noticed this 3 times now, usually when I look in the morning, the recording status window is completely blank. There is supposed to be a recording starting at 7am, but it didn't appear to.

I termined the service (stop.bat) and removed all of the PVRX2 tasks, then restarted. Logs are attached, but I noticed that at 11-16 01:05:25 in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-2.log that there is an error in ConversionProcessing. Now I don't convert my mpg's, but I would expect the settings to come back as No Coversion, as it does earlier in the log (01:03, for example).

Any help would be appreciated...

A slight variation on this thing with recording service getting hung. Today, the 19th, same thing appears to happen, recording service isn't doing it's thing at 7am

logs show
Code:

2007-11-19 06:59:02.015    VERBOSE    [5]    RecordingStatus is now RecordingStatus.RECORDING_COMPETED

is this a real memory error, or is it something else, e.g. memory corrupted by another process?

5 days later (after a complete power down, restart) there have been no reoccurances of this issue. If anyone has insight, please let me know...

I did have a quick look through the logs, but nothing really stood out as the cause. Its sounds like some sequence of events had led to some memory corruption in that process, which lead to problems next time you tried to use your capture device. Its hard tell what might have caused that corruption in the first place, since there is a lot components from various parties used in the recording service. Any of them could have been the cause.

Hopefully it wont reoccur.

Hi. I have a similar set of logs, but I´m running 1.0.16.

I will try to restart to see if it solves it, but at the moment the GBPVR is in use by my son.

Yours doesnt seem to be exactly the same type of error - its in a different area of the application. What does "Det gjordes ett försök att läsa eller skriva till skyddat minne. Detta indikerar ofta att annat minne är skadat." mean in english?

Can you enable log flushing in the config app, then post the logs next time it occurs?

"Det gjordes ett försök att läsa eller skriva till skyddat minne. Detta indikerar ofta att annat minne är skadat." is swedish for "Attempted to read or write
protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt"

I will enable log flushing and post the logs if it happens again. I will do that before restarting the whole box.

Edit: The restart of the recording service after enabling the log flushing have cured the problem for the moment.

It happened again. Sub, here is a new set of logs. The GBPVR box has been running memtest86 for several hours before installing XP, so at lest I know that the memory itself should be OK.

Unfortunately these are only partial logs. As I mentioned above, can you enable log flushing in the config app then post the logs next time it happens?

Sorry, got the wrong log fileSad Got lost in my VNC world. Could this be related to standby/hibernate? I have been using hibernate, but I will try standby instead.
