Is there a way to manually tune a satellite channel. I've heard there are a number of Optus D1 channels that a normal scan will not pick up, so was wondering if they can be manually setup?

You can manually add a row to the .cache file in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA directory, then click the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button. The row you added should show up as an option.

The cache row needs the following parts:

T: (frequency, symbol rate, FEC)
P: (service ID)
A: (audio PID)
V: (video PID)
PMT: (pmt PID)
N: (name)

I've tried as well without success. Here's one line from the cache:
T:12643,V,6874,34~P:61439~V:1024~A:1025~PMT:8192~PCR:1024~N:>Imparja
The settings I obtained from here:
http://www.vetrun.com/forums/showthread.php?p=71773
I've tried other combinations but no sound or video

Note: there is no space in "PCR". It just turns up that way with a copy/paste.

I tried the minimum sections (as listed above) - and also a copy of C4 with the parameters changed.

Most of the trouble is that none of the websites (lyngsat / satcodx) have the NID / PMT / PCR listed.

I have a Topfield and a Maxplus - with the pc software that i can download into - so ive got most of the settings required - but still no go?

One thing is both STB dont list the FEC (or say auto) - and it looks like GBPVR requires the value to be specified. Here is my latest attempt

T:12456,H,22500,34~NID:0~ONID:0~TSID:21~P:1921~V:513~A:651~L:000~PMT:267~PCR:513~N:>C4

T:12643,V,6870,34~P:610~V:1024~A:1025~PMT:32~N:>Imparja
T:12643,V,6870,34~P:611~V:1040~A:1041~PMT:32~N:>NITV

One other thing is that i have yet to pick up any of the feeds on D1/B3/AS4 - for pretty much the same reason as above - I can see a feed running on the STB in the bedroom - but when i do a scan on GBPVR - it finds nothing.

I have tried different FEC in the dvb-s\xxxx.ini file for the frequency etc - but still doesnt find the feed... The feeds are FTA - so im unsure why GBPVR doesnt find them (esp when the PIDs arent hidden like imparja/NITV).

Any assistance would be greatly apprec

using the above link to imparja pids etc - ive come up with the following when adding details from my stbs and the extra settings in the post - have yet to test and see if it flies ...

Hi Sub - I posted this on the apsattv forum - to try and find the data that GB-PVR requires in its cache file to load Imparja / NITV.

here are the replies ...
=====================================
> One thing that lyngsat and satcodx do not list (at least for the D1
>Imparja/NITV) is NID / ONID/PMT

> * NID & ONID (Provider code - in most cases from other
channels - these are usually the same)

They don't have one

> * Channel ID (P: field) - my setedit software on
Topfield/Maxplus says its 255 for both - just double checking-im
dubious tho.

Again they don't have one

> * PMT

They also don't transmit a PMT.

This is all part of the "Hidden PIDS". They don't transmit any of the
usual DVB information on their transponder that would assist tuning.
They only transmit the audio and video PIDs.
=====================================

How does GB-PVR cope with this? --- is there anyway to get these 2 channels to load?? They are FTA after all.

Given the info above - the only parameters I can then define with any accuracy are :

T:12643,V,6870,34~V:1024~A:1025~PCR:1024~N:>Imparja
T:12643,V,6870,34~V:1040~A:1041~PCR:1040~N:>NITV

Is there anyway to set GB-PVR to not require as much info...?

Yes it can cope with this. It only really needs T: A: V:, but you should also include the P: and PMT: parameters even if these are set to garbage.

I havnt personally tried them myself, but feel free to give it a go. It should work by entering these tuning requests manually.
