My setup is as follows:

ATI Theatre Pro 550 - IR Blaster - Comcast Settop Box
Hauppauge 1600 - Analog (what's left) & Clear QAM

The issue I am having is with the ATI 550 + Blaster setup. I am recording some shows off my On-Demand, so I went in to my menu had it ready to watch (one press on my remote away) and started a manual recording for the length + padding of the show. When I selected "Record" Gbpvr blasted a channel change request to the settop box (for channel 1 - On Demand - the currently displayed and selected channel). This caused me to lose my place in the menu and have to navigate back to the show to start the playback.

Is there any way to have control over this situation? IE., if I am starting a manual recording - can I have it NOT change the channel? Or, must I start recording, then navigate and start my show to be recorded? The second option is not as elegant, as it requires me to know the length of the show prior to selecting it for playback.

Thanks.

One way would be to setup a special channel on a new source tuner, which duplicates all settings of your exisiting STB source - but don't setup a blaster for that source. Tnen when you want to record something like that do a manual recording of this new channel.
I do a similar thing and call the channel "composite".

That is actually an excellent suggestion, I will create a new capture source just for the On-Demand "channel". Glad I posted here, sometimes the simplest ideas go right past us.

I am very new to the whole IR blasting scene (almost wish I had gotten into it earlier, it was pretty frustrating getting it all set up for the first time).

Thanks

Ok, so somehow I screwed up good, and in trying to add another capture source I lost my digital mappings on my 2250. I only get 5 stations, and going through the QAM scanning again will be quite a bother, is there any way to retrieve my previous mapping settings?

I am finding some (where I had pending recordings) in my pending.log. Hopefully I can find everything I need..

Edit - ok got most of them, guess I still have to rescan, because some are just plain wrong.

Now I have two unreferenced channels in my listings, how can I remove those? I tried using the button in config, but it doesn't get rid of them. I have removed all failed recordings, there are none pending (the only channel I have left has never recorded anything on, I got rid of one unreferenced channel) for this channel... any advice for that?

Edit - alright I got it, basically stripped and reconfiged my sources.

Ooops, I should probably have suggested making a backup of the database of the whole subdirectory before twekaing a fully working system.Sorry

My database gets backed up daily, so I forget to give the warnings.

It's all good, a little frustration, a lesson learned. I got it all set up the way I want now (I think?)... Recorded a few On-Demand features, and my normal scheduled shows just fine today.
